The Theo Boerma Cup is the premier floral design competition for florists and floral artists worldwide. The event challenges participants to create unique designs that push the boundaries of traditional floral art. With the theme “The Enchanted Garden,” this year’s focus is on extravagant colors, unusual flowers, and surreal shapes.

The competition provides a platform for seasoned professionals and emerging talent to showcase their skills to an international jury and audience.

General Competition Information

• Date: Friday, September 6, 2024
• Location: Boerma Instituut, Aalsmeer
• Participants: Maximum of 11 competitors
• Schedule:
  • 09:15 – 09:30: Reception with coffee and tea
  • 10:00 – 14:00: Competition
  • 19:30: Award Ceremony (Saturday, September 7)
  • 21:00: Design breakdown

Participation Requirements:

• Dutch florists and students participate through a preliminary round.
• International participants can register by sending five photos of their work to info@boerma.nl.

1st Prize:

• Handcrafted bronze Theo Boerma Cup (by Mark van Kuppevelt) + name engraved on the trophy.

Judges

The designs will be evaluated by an expert jury, including Mike Boerma as a representative of the Boerma Instituut. The jury looks for designs that push boundaries and evoke a sense of wonder.
