Op vraag van de bloemist en de consument en na jaren van ontwikkeling, introduceert Smithers-Oasis OASIS^® NATUREBASE^® Bio Floral Foam, ’s werelds eerste steekschuim dat bijna volledig biologisch afbreekbaar is.

De nieuwe formule van OASIS^® NATUREBASE^® Bio Floral Foam is ontworpen voor moderne stortplaatsen en trekt microben aan die het schuim afbreken tot methaan, CO2 en organisch materiaal. Testen op basis van de ‘American Society for Testing  and Materials-normen’ (ASTM) tonen aan dat OASIS^® NATUREBASE^® Bio Floral Foam binnen 1 jaar 51.5% biologisch afbreekbaar zal zijn en 91% binnen 3 jaar.

Al meer dan 60 jaar zet Smithers-Oasis zich niet alleen in voor de ontwikkeling van de bloemenindustrie, maar ook voor het behoud van het milieu. Smithers-Oasis was de eerste in de industrie die het gebruik van chloorfluorkoolstof uit de productie van schuim van bloemen heeft geëlimineerd en heeft met succes de emissie van vluchtige organische stoffen (VOS) in de afgelopen 25 jaar met meer dan 85 % verminderd.

At the request of florists and consumers and after years of development, Smithers-Oasis introduces OASIS® NATUREBASE® Bio Floral Foam, the first first floral foam that is almost completely biodegradable.

The new OASIS® NATUREBASE® Bio Floral Foam formula is designed for modern landfills and attracts microbes that break down the foam into methane, CO2 and organic material. Tests based on the “American Society for Testing and Materials Standards” (ASTM) show that OASIS® NATUREBASE® Bio Floral Foam will be 51.5% biodegradable within 1 year and 91% within 3 years.
