It’s happening! We are bringing over our complete Vocational Program to the US!
Have you always dreamt of becoming a florist, but never found a good place to have a proper vocational educational? 
Look no further! We will start our 20 Day Vocational Program September 30th this year.

Introductory Program

If you are still on the fence and don’t know if you are ready to invest into the incredible 20-day intensive floristic training program, we are organizing a 3-day Introductory Program April 15-17!
So if you want to dip your toe into the water of floristric education, then this is for you!

Who will be your teacher?

Mike Boerma is a 5th generation florist and a 3rd generation floristry teacher. He has many years of experience as a vocational floristry instructor at the Boerma Instituut and has traveled around the world to teach classes.
Mike has trained floristry staff in many countries as a private tutor and given demonstrations in Europe, the US and countries like Taiwan and Japan.
The Boerma Instituut is a family business, it’s a world renown floristry school. People travel from all across the world to study there. It also has daughter school’s in South East Asia.
Mike is specialized in formative fundamental education and has a passion to help students grow from zero experience into competent professional florists.

Advanced version of the Dutch Garden Style

What’s going to be in the introductory program?

We will try to fit in as many subjects as possible, so that you get a good feeling of what would be done during the complete vocational program that starts September 30th.
You will learn the essentials, like how to make a perfect spiral tied bouquet in a few different styles.
You’ll learn about Bohemian Style works and the basic Dutch Garden Style for example, using Foam and No-Foam Techniques.
This is a craftsmanship forward program in which you will learn traditional and classical European and Dutch styles, but in the end reaching a more modern style work.
I would run a fundamentals program which covers spiral tied bouquets in different styles. Boho / Garden Style.

Where will the program be located?

The program will be hosted by Bill Schaffer from Schaffer Designs at the Pennock Floral wholesaler in Pennsauken!

What will the Program Cost?

The 3-day introductory program will cost € 909,- which is about $ 995,-

Wat are the hours of the Introductory Program?

Each day starts at 10.00 and ends at 16.30.
However, it can sometimes be the case that we finish later or earlier, so please be aware that there is a chance we might finish at 17.00.
Since the class starts at 10.00, please be at the location at 09.45.



We recommend staying at the Hilton, as it’s the closest to the venue. There’s also free parking for those that come by car.
If you are joining this program with a friend that you could room up with, you can save some costs.
